The Importance of Your Environment
One of the key aspects of Human Design is understanding your Environment. This is one of the four “Variables” that make up your unique energetic blueprint. It defines the type of physical space where you thrive and feel most supported. There are six primary Environment types: Caves, Markets, Kitchens, Mountains, Valleys, and Shores.
Knowing your Environment type is incredibly beneficial because it helps you:
- Optimize your workspace to support your energy and productivity.
- Improve your well-being by creating surroundings where you feel comfortable and at ease.
- Make better decisions, as your environment can significantly influence your thought processes and choices.
- Nourish your body, mind, and spirit by creating a space that allows you to recharge.
- Access your intuition, creativity, and productivity whenever you need it.
Before we dive in, what even is Human Design?
Human Design is a fascinating system that combines elements of astrology, Kabbalah, I Ching, and quantum physics to create a unique “energetic blueprint” for each individual. Think of it as your personalized guidebook to understanding how your energy interacts with the world. It reveals insights into how you make decisions, how you can best utilize your energy, and what kind of environment truly supports your well-being.
By delving into your unique energetic makeup, you can:
- Make decisions that align with your true self, discovering a decision-making process that feels authentic and empowering.
- Optimize your energy, learning how to conserve it effectively and utilize it to its fullest potential.
- Create a supportive environment that nourishes your soul, enhancing both your productivity and overall happiness.
- Live a more authentic life, embracing your true nature and shedding societal expectations that don’t serve you.
Today, we delve into the Valleys environment, exploring its unique characteristics and how to optimize your workspace for maximum well-being and productivity.
Valleys Environment: Your Guide to Thriving
If you have the Valleys environment as a variable in your Human Design body graph (you can download your chart here) , you thrive in tranquil, open spaces that provide a sense of peace and connection with nature. Here’s how you can optimize your workspace to resonate with your Valleys nature.
Finding Peace and Openness:
Tranquility:
Imagine peaceful, open spaces that allow you to recharge and connect with yourself.
Openness:
Big, airy environments with expansive views or minimal clutter are ideal. Think expansive landscapes, open floor plans, or rooms with large windows.
Connection with Nature:
Valleys individuals thrive near nature’s beauty – rolling hills, open fields, or even wide bodies of water.
But it’s important to note too that someone with valleys needs that interaction with other people or co-workers, it’s not just about nature. My husband is valleys, for example. When he works from home, his desk is in the living room with a view looking out into the neighborhood. He loves to see what is going on and notices what the neighbors are doing. He is more likely to go to get the mail and have a half hour conversation than I am as a “caves” environment. Then he can come back in and get more work done. I on the other hand work upstairs in the back of the house in a quiet space. He would go stir crazy in my quiet, office space!
Creating Your Ideal Valleys Workspace:
- Micro-Oasis Creation: Use cubicle walls, hanging curtains, or plants to create a visual and energetic separation in a shared workspace. Maintain a clean and organized desk area to mimic a designated entry point.
- Natural Elements: Position yourself near a window for natural light and a view outside. Decorate your workspace with calming blue and green colors, nature photographs, or a small plant.
- Sound Management: Consider noise-canceling headphones for focused work. If office noise is overwhelming, discuss the possibility of designated quiet zones with management.
- Active View: Can you enjoy a work oasis that allows you to see what is going on and be part of the action when you choose?
- People Connection: Valleys thrive on connecting with people and sharing information. They often create communities. They enjoy the peace, quiet and occasional solitude but also need that connection.
